It’s a high-quality Minneapolis community designed especially with University of Minnesota students in mind. Stadium Village Flats features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as a 24-hour fitness center, skylounge and street-level retail, all just a block from campus.

Is Stadium Village Flats part of the University of Minnesota?

No. Stadium Village Flats is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Stadium Village Flats has his or her own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Stadium Village Flats pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed Internet
  • Trash removal
  • 24-hour on-site management
  • Community features – fitness center, skylounge, yoga studio, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Stadium Village Flats range from 1 to 4 bedroom floorplans. All apartments have a private bathroom for each bedroom, except the 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom option.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all apartments at Stadium Village Flats have a furniture package that includes a Full XL bed, dresser, desk and chair in each bedroom, and a sofa, coffee table and entertainment stand in each living room. Plus, all residences include a full appliance package in the kitchen. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model residences.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 26, 2024 to July 31, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Stadium Village Flats also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Stadium Village Flats?

Your living costs at Stadium Village Flats can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Stadium Village Flats. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Stadium Village Flats open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Stadium Village Flats are students at University of Minnesota and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Stadium Village Flats is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Stadium Village Flats has fire sprinklers, plus electronic locks and individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Stadium Village Flats is a no-pets community. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Stadium Village Flats?

Stadium Village Flats offers heated underground parking for an additional charge. Secure bike parking is also available free for residents.

What other transportation options will I have?

Stadium Village Flats is two blocks from two stops on the Metro Transit “green” light rail. The U of M Campus Circulator bus route also stops less than two blocks away, running from 7am weekdays and from 9:30am weekends, continuing until midnight Sunday through Wednesday nights and until 2am Thursday through Saturday nights.
